3 colour palettes to try in your home

Have you ever bought accessories for your home/room then placed them where you imagined them and they just don't fit? My number one tip is to always go with a colour theme when styling a room. Today, I thought I would show you 3 that I am just loving at the moment, and how you can achieve them yourself!

1. Neutrals

A neutral room is hard to achieve, in that you have to break up the browns, or you get brown overload and it's not good. Neutral accessories and furniture often have brown undertones, so try to mix up the earthier colours with pale pink, mint, grey or black. I used pale pinks to separate above, combining textures like linen, grid and patterns to create depth.

, Black grid pillowcase made from a Country Road tea towel, no longer available.

Pink eye cushion from Kowtow

, Large antipodes bottle, Aesop Body Cleanser (empty),

George & Edi Candle in Vanilla & Anise

Aesop Resurrection Hand Cream

Table from Briscoes

2. Pink, copper and black

This is just the colour theme of the moment. Pairing a gorgeous copper clock with pale pink is just dreamy. Black can be used to separate the two pale colours and also link them together! Try also using a very white canvas to start with, such as a white duvet cover. Copper is a tricky one, so I recommend linking it together with at least two pieces in the room.

3. Monotone

monotone so much. The key to monotone is creating contrast. You need the stark white, not the creamy whites, and the jet black. Greys are your friend too, use them to add a more 'homely' feel from the contrast. The bonus of this colour theme is that

metallic will go with it! For added interest, combine metal accessories like silver, brass, gold, copper or even rose gold.
