Well, this is it. I am finally attending university which almost feels weird to say on my blog. I started blogging when I was 14 so the idea of uni seemed like a distant 'adult' thing I didn't have to worry about. Look where we are now.
I am living in another country, I have a new bedroom, a new family, new friends and a completely new routine. Life is busy and absolutely exciting. I am in a city I love, doing a course that suits me down to a T and I have already settled into my daily timetable. Yes there are countless hours spent on public transport but somehow I am ok with that. I feel like I am starting to become myself because I feel so much more... me?!
I have already attended 3 full weeks at my university - assignments, projects, excursions and all.
these are my classes for the first semester:
- profile a retail market (basically about shopping)
- design history
- illustration
- studio workshop (building stuff and making foam signs etc.)
- vmp (practical styling)
- drafting (technical drawing/autocad)
- 2D design (illustrator)
Instead of telling you everything in one post I am going to try to post about little projects I do in each class. We took a class excursion for design history to the National Gallery of Victoria a few days ago to visit the David Hockney exhibition, which was so great to see. I was amazed how many drawing he does on an iPad or iPhone! It was refreshing to see digital art.
I'm so excited to be studying in Melbourne - which you guys probably know considering the amount of times I have talked about Melbourne here (I am sorry if you are sick of me already). Hopefully I can keep you up to date on exciting things I do because I would love to give you an insight into my uni life (I know I would have loved to have seen more people do that because I was so clueless about what people actually do at uni).
