With the beginning of my 2016 being spent debating with myself whether I should change my instagram or keep it the same, I realised this was the perfect time to do the minimalism challenge. Like any other blogger, I have wanted to reduce my screen time and take time out of my day to do more therapeutic and relaxing things. I find organising my room SUPER fun and calming, so when I happened to stumble across the minimalism challenge again, I thought right, it's time chloe! Initially when I came across this... over a year ago (?) I thought it would be things like 'get rid of all your stuff' and 'don't do this' and 'don't do that'. But upon reading, minimalism seems like a pretty cool thing. I followed the links from pinterest back to the original creator, 'into mind' and read every single one of her posts about minimalism. I suggest if you are curious or interested to read her post called minimalism: the beginners guide.
I have decided to start the 30 day minimalism challenge - do you want to follow along? For me this is the perfect time because school is not back for another month and I don't really have any plans. If you just want to select a few days and do them - awesome! If you want to do the whole thing with me, super awesome! I will be starting this Monday 11th Jan, I know it's the most random time.
I am looking forward to days where I get to organise, declutter and remove unnessecary things from my life (day 1 is going to be a challenge, staying offline for a whole day!) I am hoping to come out of the other side with a new viewpoint, and depending on how I feel, keep trying to be minimalist or adapt my lifestyle in the right direction!
Starting on Monday too, I am doing a little personal challenge... which isn't really a challenge, I'm more excited! I decided for a week I wanted to plan and cook my own meals. Just to start experiencing student life and working within a budget while staying healthy! (It's also my way to get back on track after the holiday season!)
I ended this week sitting in bed with hydrocortisone cream smothered on my face because I got extremely burnt... but it was worth it because I got to meet another blogger for the first time! I met up with Georgia (@milkywayblogger) while she was in NZ! It was so lovely to chat and eat yummy mango vegan ice cream.
I hope you are all starting the new year well, and having fun! I am excited to start over with some new personal challenges and a new mindset.
